Customized Potty Training Programs for Puppies and Dogs

No one wants their dog to leave a puddle (or worse) on the floor. However, it’s relatively easy for untrained dogs to make their home their personal toilet. This isn’t because the dog is being deliberately naughty. They just don’t realize that going to the bathroom inside isn’t okay. That’s what potty training (aka housebreaking) comes in to help.

Proper housebreaking eliminates the risk of unfortunate indoor accidents. It also supports consistency, routine and obedience as core components of good dog behavior. Using science-backed tactics, positive reinforcement and clear direction, Sit Means Sit fosters lasting potty training habits in dogs of all ages. By knowing the ins and outs of “going out”, your pup will confidently learn when and how to potty, and you’ll have a lot less to worry about underfoot.

Benefits of Professional House Training

Housebroken dogs must understand two things: First, the indoors are not for going to the bathroom. Second, there’s a process for going to the bathroom outside. Sit Means Sit’s goal is to build the structure that makes successful routines possible.

Our attention-based training methods:

  • Drive long-lasting results by quickly identifying and adapting to your dog’s ideal learning patterns.
  • Build good habits and routines by establishing regular, consistent outdoor breaks and rewarding good behavior.
  • Reduce accidents and frustration that clearly define the “right” and “wrong” of going to the bathroom.
  • Strengthen the dog-owner bond through positive communication before and during visits outside.

Whether you want to begin housebreaking as a fundamental part of puppy training, or you need help as part of your dog’s ongoing behavior modification plan, we know how to apply our methods in the right ways at the right times. To put it plainly, our business is helping your dog learn to do their business correctly.

See Why Cincinnati Dog Owners Love Sit Means Sit

Our puppy Guinness had some bad habits and having never raised a puppy, we needed help. We had a trainer come to our house for awhile, but there seemed to be little progress. Sit Means Sit Cincinnati was a lifesaver. While Guinness still has plenty to learn, his training made a big improvement and the fact that we can take part in group classes for no additional charge is awesome! Guinness loves to see all the dog trainers, they are a great group!
We have been so happy with our experience at Sit Means Sit Cincinnati! The dog trainers treat our pup like one of their own. Our dog loves going to his follow up classes each week, and we LOVE all the progress he has made and continues to make!
Perfect! I really thought I was going to have to rehome Nelson. He was so reactive and his prey drive was excessive. Had done several other obedience classes elsewhere (and they were good) but Sit Means Sit Cincinnati’s 10 day Board and Train did the job. We are meshing so well. I am so much more confident with my 90 pound Serbian German Shepherd than I would ever have thought possible. I am so in love with this dog I cannot wait to start our day hikes this spring. We’re not perfect yet but I have high hopes!
