Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Boarding and Training

What should I bring for my dog during Board and Train?

Please bring your dog’s flat collar and leash, their favorite toy, pre-bagged food for the morning and night, any medications they need and high-value treats. We provide bowls and additional boarding items.

How long does the Board and Train program take?

At Sit Means Sit Cincinnati, our experienced dog trainers fully customize your dog’s training sessions to ensure your pup makes the most of their boarding time. The length of stay depends on your training goals and your dog’s needs, which we’ll discuss during your free evaluation.

Can I visit my dog during the boarding and training period?

To maintain consistency in training and avoid disrupting your dog’s progress, we do not schedule visits during their stay with us. However, we’ll send you regular updates and photos of your dog’s progress to keep you informed while you’re away.

Will my dog be fully trained at the end of the program?

Your dog will learn many new skills during their stay, but their success depends on following through with the training at home. That’s why our Dog Board and Train programs include Private Dog Training Lessons to teach you how to maintain and build upon your dog’s new behaviors, along with access to our Group Classes for ongoing support.

What Cincinnati Dog Owners Are Saying

They Treat Your Dog Like Family
“We highly recommend Sit Means Sit! Everyone is so friendly and they treat your dog like family. We took our 7-month-old Australian Shepherd puppy to the 10-day Board and Train. He came back with so much improvement. He has learned so much and is gaining confidence every time we go back. CJ and Jeremy ease your nerves about sending your dog away for multiple days by sending you updates and pictures of how your dog is doing. He is so happy to come back and see all his trainer friends.”

Top-Notch Experience and Results
“We sent our giant schnauzer to Sit Means Sit for a Board and Train, followed up by training at home. It was hands down the best decision we ever made. The price was comparable to other trainers in our area, but I believe our experience and results were top-notch. We now have a dog that is more confident, relaxed, easier to handle and more fun to be around! He is now 90 lbs. and my 2-year-old, 24 lb. daughter can walk him on a leash and even get him to sit. 10/10 recommend.”

I Am So in Love With My Dog Now
“I really thought I was going to have to re-home Nelson. He was so reactive and his prey drive was excessive. Had done several other obedience classes elsewhere (and they were good), but Sit Means Sit 10-day Board and Train did the job. We are meshing so well. I am so much more confident with my 90-pound Serbian German Shepherd than I would ever have thought possible. I am so in love with this dog. I cannot wait to start our day hikes this spring!”
